Our 2016 Recipient - Heather Bailes

Heather has coached several hundred volleyball players across Northeast Ohio in both high school and club. She is the current JV Volleyball coach at Aurora High School. She's been an athlete her entire life. She started playing volleyball at the age of 6, coaching club at 17 and High School at 21.

In High school, she was also an avid runner. She achieved over 50 awards, including conference honors, qualified in the finals for Division 1 Regionals and earned a college scholarship for Track. Running was, and remains a huge part of her life, through both coaching and her lifestyle.

Tragically, Heather was in a motorcycle accident in July of 2015. At the Scene, Heather dislocated her knee so severely that it severed the main artery in her leg and the nerves to the lower part of her leg. She proceeded to call 911 for herself and her father, who had broken his clavicle and collapsed his left lung. Heather tied a shirt around her leg to stop the bleeding and was able to save her own life.

With the funds raised Coaches 4 Coaches hopes to help get Heather back on her feet, back in the gym, and close to the girls she inspires everyday. She is courageous, passionate, and and inspiration to us all.
